Privacy Policy
How ExamPocket apps and this website handle information.
Effective date: 29 October 2026
Overview
ExamPocket provides independent exam-preparation apps and this supporting website. The services are provided as available. This policy explains the information that may be stored or processed when you use them.
Information collection and use
The website does not use web forms, user accounts, or advertising cookies. It uses PostHog Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic, page use, interactions, performance, and visits to App Store or Google Play destinations. ExamPocket apps may store study progress, saved content, preferences, and similar app data locally on your device.
Website analytics may include pages visited, referral and campaign information, approximate country, browser and device details, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement used for heatmaps, website performance measurements, and store links selected. ExamPocket does not use this information to identify you, create advertising profiles, or connect website activity to an app account.
Depending on the app, version, platform, and features you use, an app may use third-party services for platform functions, analytics, advertising, diagnostics, and subscriptions. Those providers may process technical information such as device and app details, usage events, diagnostic data, advertising identifiers where permitted, and purchase or subscription status under their own privacy policies.
Payments are handled by Apple or Google. ExamPocket does not receive your full payment-card details. Subscription services may provide the app with purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock or restore access.
Third-party services
The services that may be used include:
- Apple and the App Store
- Google Play services
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Google Analytics 4, for website analytics when you accept analytics cookies
- Google AdMob, in apps or versions where advertising is enabled
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management
- Expo, where its platform services are used
- PostHog, for cookieless website analytics
Log and diagnostic data
If an app encounters an error, or where analytics is enabled, third-party services may process information such as the app version, device type, operating-system version, language or region, time of the event, app interactions, technical identifiers, and diagnostic details. ExamPocket uses this information to understand app performance, maintain the service, and improve the user experience.
Email and support
If you email ExamPocket, we receive your email address and the information you include so that we can review and answer the enquiry. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, confidential examination content, or personal information that is not needed for the enquiry.
Website analytics, cookies and external links
ExamPocket configures PostHog in cookieless mode. PostHog does not create person profiles or record screen sessions. It processes website analytics data in its EU Cloud region, and data is retained for up to one year under the current PostHog service plan.
Google Analytics 4 starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. If you select “Accept analytics”, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga, to measure visits and website interactions. If you reject, Google Analytics remains in denied mode and does not set analytics cookies. Google signals and advertising personalisation remain disabled in either case, and ExamPocket does not send a User ID. Google may receive limited cookieless measurement signals while consent is denied and processes Google Analytics data under its own privacy terms and the property's configured retention settings.
ExamPocket uses one essential first-party cookie named ep_analytics_consent for up to 180 days to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. It stores only that choice. You can change it at any time through “Cookie settings” in the website footer; rejecting after previously accepting also removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this website.
Apps and website pages may link to stores or other sites that ExamPocket does not operate. Those services apply their own privacy policies and terms.
Children's privacy
ExamPocket services are not directed to children under 13, and ExamPocket does not knowingly request personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to ExamPocket, please contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Security
ExamPocket takes reasonable steps to protect information, but no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You can manage app permissions in your device settings. Removing an app generally removes information stored locally by that app, subject to device backups and the practices of Apple, Google, or other service providers. You can contact ExamPocket with a privacy or deletion question.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website, apps, or their service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
